We are not voting our way out of this.

We will end up like Germany with a coalition of left/wets making sure we can't have immigration laws or any kind of removal system.

The left are too entrenched to agree to go quietly.

My local Green councillors, life long activists and thoroughly decent people, are nauseated by what the Green Party has become and are ready to go Lib Dem or just exit politics in disgust. They have more time for the local Reform candidates than the parachuted-in Tory and Labour apparatchiks. They can smell real vs fake and so can the electorate. But I think you are right that Reform is past its apogee already.

The Green Party seems to be all smoke and mirrors - no substance at all. It will briefly capture the "yoof" vote and the university-educated midwits, but I don't see it staying the course.

Gilgamech's avatar

The yoof will revolving-door through the Greens. In for the utopian wishcasting, out when they realise Polanski is pro-genocide. Maybe some will stay for the gay chemsex orgies?

Fiona walker's avatar

Not today’s yoof, they are all teetotal prudes by the looks of them.

Gilgamech's avatar

Yeah I think the chemsex advocacy is a turnoff for them. I'm not sure which demographic Zack is pandering to with that. Brighton nightclub owners maybe?

Isn’t there a chance - at least some small hope - of Reform getting its act together over the next year or two? Surely Orr and Jenrick and Braverman and Kruger with a dollop of Goodwin can bring some message consistency and thought through policies? They must know - surely! - that the stakes are high and just because other parties are clueless doesn’t give them an excuse to be similarly clueless.

Their leader has been totally consistent over the last couple of decades. As soon as the likes of Orr, Jenrick, Braverman or Kruger start to put the party on an intellectual basis, they will be seen as a threat to the Great Leader, and chucked out. Many have tried before this time and are no longer in the Great Leader's party of the day.

We’re all a bit screwed then. Maybe, just maybe, flawed characters will rise the occasion. Maybe Farage is getting on and will learn to share the limelight? That may be wishful thinking but so is hoping the Tories to get their act together and persuade us that they are different? Rupert Lowe winning 400 seats with brilliant MPs ready to run the country? We really don’t know what’s going to happen next.

Gilgamech's avatar

Very true. And Jenrick? Who sold his vote for 5 grand to a porn baron for a property hussle? He should be in jail not Parliament.

Bettina's avatar

There is nobody in Reform who will be allowed to out-message Farage. If they try they will be messaged-out on their arse.

Martin T's avatar

Surely at some point Farage will tire of being Farage and let the ego take a back seat for the good of the country? It’s a hope, but better than nothing …

Anybody that can predict the result of the next election correctly could make a fortune.

I'm betting on NOTA, 50/- each way!

Labour then Pete? More of the same. Just keep them in because Reform aren’t perfect.

We can’t change our taxation system due to economic restraints.

Mass immigration has been a huge benefit to our economy and the reason we are in such an advantageous position.

Low borrowing, high investment ensures future wealth.

It’s absurd to veer to far from the norm as the country will fail.

Thus is the doom doctrine.

I certainly agree with you about Reform, and, let's face it, the Greens have now been captured by a load of weirdos. In fact, if we are talking about bottoms, the Greens are wasting no time in literally displaying theirs. Yes, we have reached rock-bottom, and it's only going to get worse.

Gawd help us.

The Martyr's avatar

Greens are far worse than weirdos. Bloody nutcases captured by Muslims.

Anyone voting today is signing a suicide note. It was ever thus. If someone says:Vote for Me it’s time to slap him in chains before he does any damage.
