I’ve long since given up arguing about the Gaza situation with people. There seems to be an utter disregard for evidence (if this is a genocide it’s the worst executed ever) and the brainless performative exhortations ignore even basic considerations of what they are requiring to change ie ‘from the river to the sea’ (which by definition means the end of Israel).

I had a couple of libdem canvassers pony up at my door during the most recent locals. Young guys. Bright and bristly. They had the misfortune to knock while I was watching the CCTV footage of poor bastards in Golders Green run for their lives after a Muslim maniac went on a knife rampage.

I confronted them about what I had just watched; the murder of Jews on the streets of the UK. Their response was to trot out the standard Ed Davey line about the two state solution.

I observed that the two state solution was offered to Yasser Arafat back in 1994. And he declined.

The response of the canvassers?

They didn’t know who Yasser Arafat was. And had no idea why the two state solution wasn’t accepted back then.

The left is brain dead. Only driven by the motivational vibe unhinged from history. It’s endemic amongst the left and the young and is largely responsible for the world we live in and our current travails: no-one under 47 has ever had to deal with the consequences of a genuine left wing government so we see idiotic cheering of ‘tax more spend more!’.. and the same goes for any historical understanding of Israel and Gaza. These are midwits who have swallowed a pill and cannot understand a countervailing proposition because none has ever been presented.

The only way the lesson will be learned is for the younger generations to be introduced to the reality of democratic choice and consequence. The hard way.

That 'hard way' is coming, sure as eggs is eggs.

The MSM has long supported anti-racism, but has said hardy anything about the (immigration fuelled) rise in the oldest racism of all anti-semitism. The response to the two years of pro-hamas marches should have been front page rebuttals of all the falsehoods about Israel and Jews explaining that Arabs serve in all aspects of Israeli society and that the only apartheid was in the surrounding Muslim states that have driven out Jews and barred then from their societies.

I have been far from uncritical of various Israeli actions over the years whilst generally supporting the State of Israels right to exist after realising you can not have a democratic secular state or even a two state solution as long as the then PLO was committed to a military solution. I recall the intafadas, and the claims the IDF bulldozered to death 200 Palestinian civilians when in fact there were systematically clearing armed PLO fighters out of civilian areas house by house, room by room, near PLO West Bank compound during Arafats era; and when the peace deal was signed I recall the Israeli peace movements eventual demise in the face of ongoing Palestinian terror attacks and the wall going up; Hamas taking complete control of Gaza with its murderous gangsterism. The wests toppling of Assad obviously made things worse particularly for Christians in the region and we now have a jihadists in power. But I agree with your take on Gaza and the Non-genocide. I particularly hold the BBC and Jeremy Bowen in particular responsible for legitimising the Hamas Health Ministry’s diatribe.

I recall the 1970s and the rise of Arafat, etc. It was always thus. The Palestinians are nothing but terrorists.

So very true Pete. The left are beyond the pale.

Laura Nelson's avatar

Brilliant, Pete. My thoughts exactly. I can't improve on that and nor would I try.

The Left virtually get away with murder because they have portrayed themselves as the 'nice guys', particularly over the last 30 years, and the Right as the despicable nasty racists and shamefully the MSM through cowardice do far too little to challenge this for fear of being called pro Right racists.

This is probably why MSM covers so much 'celeb/royal' dumbed down rubbish for it is safer than pointing out the many dangerous faults with the Left, that threaten our very nation, who control our governance and Establishment.

The MSM goes for cheap news, hence the emphasis on Celebs and sport.

As many have said, if you want news, you go to the blogs these days or even, if you must, to Twitter.

Brilliant post, Pete, one of your best imo. Sums up perfectly the intellectual and ethical bankruptcy of the Islamo-left👏

The thing that gets me is that around 30% of Israel is populated by Arabs and Christians who live peacefully alongside Jews and enjoy most of the rights afforded to Jews including voting and holding senior governmental and judicial posts. If Israel was committing genocide in Gaza these people would know and I doubt very much would stay silent.

Great to see you have turned your guns on the left Pete!

Plenty to go at!

Do you still believe this statement

“Ultimately, only drone attacks directly on the boats, or indefinite detention will solve this problem. If they set foot on British soil they must go straight into camps with minimal provisions – bad enough to make the beg to go home.

“Personally, I’m no longer prepared to incur this cost even on a temporary basis. I think it’s possible to develop a relatively low cost kamikaze drone under £10,000 a pop that will quite effectively kill all individuals on a dinghy.

“Death is ultimately the most effective deterrent. I don’t see any moral obstacle to employing lethal force in defence of our borders – and it cuts out any possibility of lengthy appeals”.

An invasion is a defence issue and lethal force should not be off the table if other remedies prove ineffective. An effective lethal deterrent saves more lives in the long run.

Gary Wilson's avatar

Invasion? You really are off your head

Benjamin Wm. C. Waterhouse's avatar

What’s wrong with that? The first duty of a government is to protect its borders, lethally if necessary.

Gary Wilson's avatar

sounds as if he needs help - abhorrent statement to make.

Writing or saying things you'd rather not in this current crisis is part of the battle ..saying it as it is . but we dont want to become too used too it ,numbed by the barrage of punishment by our ruling fabian cult . that's what they like , they use pyschological projection of themselves onto others like accusing others others of what they themselves are ,to create an enemy ...,its all part of the controlling cult ,not a political group, an old cult and an evil one runs our country under the name of labour .

I think you are great but. You appear to think the conflict started on October 7th 2023. That is like thinking that the Native American conflict with the European settlers started in 1876 with Custer’s last stand, as opposed to, say, when Columbus showed up in 1492.

Also what Israel is doing may not be genocide but is classic reprisal. Reprisal is how imperialists subdue natives. If the natives rebel flatten the village. See Bloody Sunday during the Irish war of independence, or the Nazis exterminating two Czech villages after Heydrich was assassinated.

Israel needs to understand it will be the next Rhodesia when the US collapses and make peace while it can.

It's well known that:

1) Israel funded Hamas and...

2) Israel were warned about Oct 7 but LIHOP.

So, it can be argued that Israel attacked itself.
