You've reminded me of back in the immediate post-referendum days when people were touting Boris as the next Prime Minister (this was just before Mikey Gove turned on him, presumably after imbibing a line of Botota's finest in the WC - allegedly). I did wonder if those people had been on the same stuff Gove turned out to be on, along with the clowns who'd seen a few TV debates and concluded that Andrea Leadsom should be PM instead.
As I've said before the problem is that in the ADHD basketball world, slop IS policy.
This is the generation who couldn't hack 50 over cricket (let alone a test match) so they invented T20 for them. Then that wasn't basketball or ADHD enough so we have the 100 ball thing. How long before we have matches of 10 balls each, with the bowling done by machines at 150mph and the bats made out of titanium, with jet propellers attached to make them go oomph? That was a joke BTW in case anyone from the ECB was reading.

Yesterday albeit barely reported, Kemi Badenoch performed a ritual mercy killing as opposed to a full on purge.
Definitely worth a read especially as the one nation, red trouser wearing, net zero warriors have been told to pack their bags and not to apply to stand as Tory party candidates.
This is big - the Tories do have some policies - Reform and Restore are today's fish and chip wrappings - time to stop writing about slop and get your teeth into some red meat.
She certainly is moving in a constructive and positive direction. While much of the right just keeps meeting down ’Shit Lane’ after school for a punch up.
But we’ve been down this road before. Many many times. I don’t know what would make the broader right start reconsidering the Tories. But for me they could do something like this every day for a year, and they would still have a mountain to climb to regain my trust.
At least Badenoch seems to acknowledge existence of the mountain. And deserves credit for that.
It occurs to me that Farage is a one-way system man: whatever the problem or institution creating it, his answer is to 'leave' it. It worked for Brexit because everyone knew that was, in theory, an answer. However, his answer to the migration problem is now to leave the ECHR. I don't know whether he understands that it will be necessary to repeal the Human Rights Act, and replace it, or what with. He doesn't offer anything constructive. He's a reactionary. Che Guevara was a reactionary and his legacy is utter poverty for his country, admittedly due to his Marxist ideology & followed by Communism under Castro, but he had nothing constructive to replace the destruction he advocated. I'm beginning to feel it is the same with Farage: complain, complain, complain. But what will he do when the keys to No 10 land on the table in front of him?
Starmer learned this lesson the hard way - on day one he had no clue what to do, other than consult Lord Ali, Lord Hermer and Morgan McSweeney, and never recovered.
Farage supporters can't see Reform without Farage, he is their Messiah.
I'm not so sure, he has charisma and a media presence, but it's always been talked about him having an electoral ceiling and I agree.
Interesting observation - my wife who has little interest in politicians, saw an interview couple of days ago with Ed balls and Susannah Reid and a round faced brown man (her description), her comments "he was really good, took no nonsense from Ed Balls".
At what point will it occur to Reform supports that Zia Yusef may actually be more popular than Nigel Farage and how will Farage react to that?

But as Farage's antics right now shows the emperor and his lack of new (or any other) clothes, Cunningham is thrown to the media to defend the indefensible, and she has nothing.
Throw in Jenrick's batshit crazy anger on the media rounds, and the wheels are coming off Reform faster than the pitstop guys in F1 could achieve.
As I say, I almost feel sorry. But in the end, don't at all. She may be media fodder, but she knows deep down there isn't anything to defend other than vibes.

I absolutely agree with you. Reform urgently needs to be come a serious party with serious policies. “The right has got into the tragic habit of rewarding people for telling it what it already thinks”. You hit the nail on the head there. The result of 120 years or thereabouts of the gradualism of the Fabians, infiltrating and deforming our civilisation. The right acts this way because they have been delegitimised by this creeping socialist infiltration. So anything that supports the thinking of the right is seized on with gratitude. We on the right do need to get beyond that, and realise that leftist thought is really contrary to any good sense, and in fact is opposed to our culture and the reality of human existence and nature.
