I see the SDP, which does have some policy substance, have also adopted the word "slop" to describe this constant stream of superficial, crowd-pleasing soundbites from Restore and Reform. Keep up the thought leadership Pete!

Policy works do the boring stuff, everyone else rolls their eyes at. You get through all the details that work, cthencsomekbe at the top vetos it abd it gets shelved#@!

Then a few years later they realise they need it but instead if dusting it off, they start again, more money.

If they look through websites and archives there will be plenty of free policies that could be adapted.

Yes, need to do the group work. Although, the civil service and other NGO and government departments, have to be smaller, due to pension costs. They could add more staff on short term contracts, plus its easier to get rid of terrible people.

Keep,it up, they will need it at done point.

My first school motto was 'Vive ut Discas et Disce ut Vivas' which is something our shallow, virtue signally politicians would do well to remember.

Then having master that they would do well to adhere to my second school motto 'Labor Omnia Vincit' inside of pratting around thinking they are celebs rather than national servants of the people.

"live that you may live"? My Latin was never very good but it does sound a bit strange.

Mine was per "laborem ad honorem", 'through work to honour'. which even I could understand! Maybe our so called politicians would do well to follow that.

However, as Pete seems to be pointing out, it is all entertainment these days, yes, they are inclined towards celebrity status. Even the stupidity of the PMQ weekly Kindergarten, is becoming a little more entertaining these days.

Maybe 'Bread and Circuses' will be our end, as well!

Reminds me of what they say about war. You can plan for everything but but when it starts all bets are off.

The strongest win.

In politics that means the strongest willed.

The opposition is everywhere, judiciary, police, civil service, MSM, unions, local councils, OfCom et al.

But there will be friendlies in there.

Lowe is spending his time recruiting from private industry. It’s a different way of looking at politics for the UK.

Let’s hope it works,
