And how long would that take, Peter? We’re being overrun already

What do you suggest would be faster and more expedient, given we've got a Labour government until they decide to call an election?

Accelerationism: let the problem get so bad that the correction will be severe enough to pull us back into something that is sustainable in the long term (i.e. the ejection of every illegal immigrant)

We're already at that stage.

Who cares - let them reform it. Meanwhile, the UK can withdraw from all of this nonsense international stuff. We have a pretty good track record of making common low so I reckon we can come up with some legislation that will vastly improve on ECHR liberal love in garbage...

Worth a scan. The ECHR role in stopping deportations is tiny. Many other laws, most of which aren't disclosed, are more important. Therefore a focus on new laws in our Parliament, rather than a process of leaving many treaties, revoking many, many previous laws, is likely to be more beneficial. Our parliament is - theoretically - supreme. The most recent laws, if properly written, should take precedence.

Anything is possible. Let them reform it on their own. We need out - yesterday, and out of the UN also

That the Politico-Media class have already opined that the ECHR is working just fine tells you all you need to know about the chances/likelihood of reform, let alone withdrawal......

Once again the best solution might be not some half-baked "radical" policy but doing what this country has always done best: Modify what already exists and using existing systems to achieve the best ends.

With each passing week I get more annoyed and at times angry with Reform. They think a complete withdrawal from the ECHR without tackling the Supreme Court is the answer. Now we have Farage's vision for a future Reform government which is more like a wrecking ball than actual reform: An American style cabinet, Swiss style referenda on policies and an EU voting system and parliamentary assembly, the latter being neutralised and deliberately made irrelevant. So much for his patriotism. But unless something is aimed at him personally, Farage always backs down and I doubt he will have the political will to bring the Supreme Court and activist lawyers into line.

It's the first step. Anything less than that is doing nothing. I don't understand your logic.
