Hamas will not flinch at killing another 5 million in Gaza (provided the 0.1 at the top or near the top of Hamas are safe) and all of the 3 million in Judea and Samaria (misnamed The West Bank in their propaganda).
Indeed they will kill 5 million Arabs and fabricate it was the IDF.
They can see the magnitude of their success in PR terms (over several decades and certainly since 2023) and change in political policy in the West.

Reading 1st World War tunnel warfare books would have provided the knowledge needed to conduct operations underground. Modern detection equipment would have made matters a little less difficult too.
The cost of persuing a war underground would have been far more reasonable than the ‘Iron Dome’ though tunnels built in Lebanon would have been impossible to combat.
