This is good, despite Barsley taking obvious contrived offence by intentionally not understanding.
Jean's article is good but misguided IMHO, in fact it seems to have been written for something else then edited to fit the current SS hoohah. The first half or more could be an anti-trans rant for setting back women's rights (a subject on which she has a very good and consistent track record.). Then on about the amazing advances and horrific battles women have had to fight to get where we are today. But towards the 2nd half I started to get the same 'all men are rapists' vibe and it all started to go wrong.
SS has assets, she uses them ( in this case for a double win: who wtf had heard of Novig before?). To equate that with setting back women's rights and bla.ing SS for practically returning things to the Stone Age is not just totally wrong but also disappointing.
I'm probably missing something, but the second half is less coherent. All she really needed to say is that it's cheap, seedy and sexist. It would be more on point if the advert had explicitly set out to make SS the face of women's sport. That would piss me off too.
I thought the same, David. As an 'older' person I remember not being allowed to have a bank loan, let alone a mortgage, in the 1970s unless it was underwritten by my father. I was in my 20s. My mother had the most godawful falling out with my father in the 1980s because she wanted to wear 'trousers' (jeans were verboten) instead of skirts or dresses all the time. They had another major falling out when my mother told my father that when they retired his money was his and hers was hers (he was a compulsive gambler - I could write a book on that) before he eventually conceded that she had contributed the most financially over her lifetime. But she still was included in HIS tax return by law instead of her own.
I see nothing wrong with restoring some balance by pointing out that women who chose to be wives, mothers and homemakers should be valued and respected.
Lowe may have some misogynists in his ranks but Farage is one - just read the chapter in Micheal Cricks book on Farage that covers his treatment of his lady friends especially when he was in Brussels.
As to SS using her body in adverts she isn't the first and won't be the last.
I would accept whatever Sophie Cunningham says about Sydney.
Do Youtube Sophie Cunningham. The Indiana Fever guard went viral during a June 2026 WNBA game for a 22-second, wordless finger point at Phoenix Mercury guard DeWanna Bonner. She kept eye contact all the time. The message was, you just illegally hurt my team mate and think you got away with it. Did I mention I am a black belt in karate?
The basketball star said that, because the ad targets men, she doesn't understand why women are angry. She also said she doesn't "think the ad was coming for women in sport."
"Why are girls mad?" she said. "That is literally what the actress Sydney Sweeney does. It is a gambling ad. Men, sports, naked women. Of course that's going to draw attention. Again, do I agree with it? Morally, I think it's kind of weird."
I think that you need to develop your thinking on this, Pete. Nothing good has come from female emancipation on a societal level. I would argue that the subjugation of the nation's interests by emotion over the last few decades has led directly to the degradation that we see around us today. It's one thing to prevent the mistreatment of women, and nobody could sensibly argue against that. But, allowing emotion to influence the nation's direction, which has been the consequence of women holding senior positions that dictate policy, has been supremely harmful. Look back on the records of the first female politicians of influence, Barbara Castle and Shirley Williams, and then the long line of harridans that followed, and you'll get the picture.
Oooh, dangerous territory. There have been some impressive and necessary developments and allowance of women's rights not without huge cost to those involved. And I agree that some of the developments have been detrimental to society as well as to women themselves. But that does not mean that it was completely wrong. Where we have made mistakes was in assuming that all things are equal between men and women, whereas we should have realised that some things are equal and others are not.
All fair points, but misses the irony that modern feminism seems to permit any self-expression so long as men don’t enjoy it. If the same people called for a bit of all round modesty and decency, we might not be here. Before it got its way, in the time before yesterday, SS’s pictures would have been on the top shelf or the back of the garage, not all over the media. A bit of hypocrisy and licence may have had a use. I don’t know.
Under which government did men get to call themselves women and use their toilets? The Tories.
Shockingly it’s under a Labour government that the law has confirmed that it’s wrong.
How many Labour and Tory MPs have been accused of assault on women? Well, in 2024 a list of 60 men was privately compiled by Labour women for being sex pests.
Misogyny? There’s a story to tell.
On anti semitism - which party brought in millions of men from openly anti Jewish communities? The Tories.
Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria - all refuse to recognise Israel.
Labour carry on with the migration.
Is that antisemitic, or not?
On Dan Wootton Minihane (Pink Ladies) told a Piddington villager she wasn’t recording her (she was). Not a good look, whatever the woman’s politics.
At a time when the government are reported to be considering the vote for (currently) ineligible migrants Peter chooses to attack the anti globalist vote.

This sweeny hoohaa is a big nothing as far as im concerned.
She is successful, has her own business line and is not afraid to use her sexual prowess to self promote.
Whether I or bitter feminists like it or not is irrelevant. She has the right to do it and I, am happy to sit back and get distracted.

Yeah, I dont believe women should be allowed to vote, drive, own property, serve on juries etc. The only sensible women i know tend to agree with me.
*grabs beer and steps back from the bar

I thought we were finally getting an article which wasn’t a hit piece on Restore, how wrong I was.
If there’s no political solution, then why are you so bothered about Restore?
Because if your think Restore or Reform will solve our problems you will find that they fare no better than Labour or Conservatives.

The Sweeney pictures are so tame, in the olden days you had topless 16 year olds gazing at you over your cornflakes.

Two tier Peter?
Bad?
