Hi Pete

I've had a look at a few areas in your MP and I think it is good.

However, in the 'health' section, you have omitted to explain how the NHS will be funded, insisting that 'free at the point of use' is fundamental. But we know that it is unsustainable being paid out of general taxation.

Secondly, when explaining why the NHS is not meeting its original objectives, you have stated that it is due partly to an aging population, immigration, etc., but you have not mentioned the fact that the public expects all of its medical needs met, including those which have developed due to changes in society (sex change operations) and improvements in research (meaning breast cancer patients (previously very few compared to today) would then have just expected to die but now expect to be offered much support and even breast reconstruction). This is why the 'free at the point of use' is utterly unsustainable as a model which is funded by general taxation. It MUST be supplemented by private insurance for which, in my view, tax relief should be given against premiums paid.

In Google Chrome on my laptop I found it hard to get to the navigation links. The page does not scroll to the right and I had to enlarge the browser window.

But the content looks excellent and I hope to be able to comment on it either here or elsewhere.

Excellent. I like particularly, the section on local democracy, eg:

"This, by any definition, is a top-down society. One which has become increasingly so over time. As a result, local elections are little more than opinion polls on the performance of central government."

Having lived for a while in Virginia USA, I saw this at work.

1. We voted for, paid for, and manned our very local Board, that looked after our "Sub-Division" of 100+ houses. The main costs were on common areas, roads etc.

2. We voted for law enforcement officials, the school board, and local officials who had the power to spend our money on the running of local (County) organisations. Neither State nor Federal government had much input to the finance or local running of organisations.

In summary, we voted for how our wallets were effected by necessary local expenditure, for people who had real power over our money. It is so so different in top-down UK.

PS. Don't forget the great localism work included in The Harrogate Agenda (THA).
