I read Submission a few years ago after Douglas Murray recommended it. I was thinking it would happen in the distant future and in France. Reading this has got me a lot more worried. As Pete's piece illustrates, it has started to happen. But I have a few questions. why isn't the same parasatizing of the political process happening in Sweden or France, they have bigger Muslim populations?
Also, it that what's happened Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Algeria and Afghanistan over the last few decades?. I know it's happened in Iran and I know the regime is not popular with the citizens there, I just listened to waking up 370 (link below).
Shit, maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and this was all a bad dream 🤔
I remember Saudi Arabia saying that the UK was a spring board into Europe, many years ago, and set about financing mosques here. Then the ISIS/Al Qaida lot were publishing pamphlets for their followers to make their way to the UK, in readiness. As Pete remarks, all that preparation is beginning to come to fruition. It'll be a little clearer on July 5th, as to what is going on.
This is all predictable and inevitable; a slow-moving train-wreck unfolding over 75 years that is finally entering its terminal stage. The same is happening in all liberal democracies.
People claim to want reform of their bovine political system, but they don't really mean it. Not if it means losing their state healthcare, state pensions, state education, unemployment and housing welfare, child benefit and the plethora of state subsidies.
We are currently witnessing state failure across most European countries. It's already happening. As demonstrated by the Soviet Union, this doesn't happen overnight: As Hemingway drily observed about bankruptcy, it happens slowly, then very quickly. But all our countries have crossed that event horizon whereby the relentless action of the exponential function ensure that our debt servicing burden eventually exceeds the ability of taxation to support it. All our currencies will continue to devalue inexorably to the point of worthlessness. As witnessed in Russia and Germany before it, default means impoverishment, civil unrest, the rise to power of demagogues in exchange for promises of bread and circuses, and ultimately huge loss of life.
The question isn't "if?", it's "when?". I believe it will certainly happen within our lifetimes. A few tawdry political manifestos cannot change this. Indeed I see the decline of standards in our political classes as further evidence of this: The proverbial "adults in the room" capable of formulating detailed policy have given up. They recognise futility.
Everywhere can't be in net debt! The total net debt of the world must be zero.
So to whom do the nations of Europe owe cash? If it's the wealthy within Europe then tax adjustments should fix things. The same argument applied globally, if the global elite now own the world, then they will want toease off on their interest payments in preference to global destruction surely? 🤔
Have you read Michel Houellbecq's Submission? Same plotlines. Super bleak outlook but I fear you may have a point.
