You are coming from a postion that all procedures according to law will be implemented.I am in Canada and I have followed what is happening in the U.K. and the other e.u..countries that are into "suicidal empathy" England is at the breaking point now not 3 years from now.To myself I see the urgency to wake people up with the destruction of their way of life and heritage.Who cares about a program which offers a quick surgical solution to the cointries ills if it will never be implemented because the Jihadists have overrun the U.K.and have total dominance thanks to the corrupt governments " traitors in power".
I'm afraid the aesthetic gives it away. Restore want a Britain that resembles 1950s tribute act and as you say, has no understanding of the complexities of the British State and a hi-tech modern world.
'When the word fry is used to describe young fish, the plural is the same as the singular, "fry." It is not fries. It's a tricky word. Sorry, as a retired teacher, I am almost compelled to point this out.'
Anyone reading this, please don't quote the American Meriam Webster et al. We are English. We don't call more than one salmon 'salmons'.
1. You are prolific to an extent one wonders why you aren't putting yourself forward for consideration as an active politician. As such you constructively criticise in much the same way as our journalists - authority without responsibility, the same as you accuse our would be centre right+ politicians.
If you want consideration then engage with your readers. Dare I say it would be good manners at least? Stop preaching from your pulpit. Matt Goodwin, Cummings and JRM do the same and you're not even there yet.
2. Personally I'm suspicious of Rupert Lowe. Fine statements, no one can argue, or any sensible person can, that we're in a proper mess but don't others come out with the same sentiments using different words? He's not exactly cornered the market. 113,000? A big town out of 400+.
If Lowe is not the ethno fascist his detractors claim then I'm damn sure many who follow him are. UKIP's problem was attracting loud low IQ bigots; the SDP's problem, not loud enough, too reasonable. To remove 'x' million undesirables from the country is by its very scope and logistics a draconian task. The liberal mind couldn't do it with its tendency to assess cases on merit/ benefit of the doubt/marking your own homework.
The liberal mind let Africa go too soon to my mind, the stranded children of Lord of the Flies as good a metaphor as any. Farage struggles with the need to compromise - we can't throw the baby out with the bath water. He's as compromised with Zia Yusuf being Muslim as he tries to appeal to the silent peaceful muslim voter by having him there in the first place.
If only Zia declared himself atheist, the convenient 'Green' fundamental muslims have him down as apostate anyway.
Lowe wants a fight on three fronts, 1. the elite establishment, the money and influence men; 2. the leftist institutions leading the ideological woke Left and 3. fundamentalists of an ideological fanatic religion. Farage knows this, acts accordingly and suffers from it.
If the street louts front and foremost in a civil war start breaking corner shop windows and other harrassment then the brown skinned will close ranks. Folly, and the Left will milk that 24/7.
The same with Tommy Robinson, a worthwhile cause who attracts 'the wrong sort.' Nearly 100 years ago there were Germans attracting, recruiting, that wrong sort. Tommy's our Wat Tyler, too popular to succeed, like Charlie Kirk or Martin Luther King. We don't want martyrs, we want leaders. Answer your comments if you have that ambition.
I would like to think Restore is, quietly and in the background, working on the stuff Pete is talking about. I would also like to think that the party is ok with putting out policy outlines at this stage which contain a fair bit of slop, but will get a lot more real with the nuts and bolts in the coming months. But I’d like to see some proof of this. I know that Harrison Pitt has put out a remigration proposal which far exceeds that of any other party in terms of scope and detail, but we need to see more of this kind of thing in other areas of policy. More importantly we need to know that such policy proposals are being constantly re-appraised and, if necessary, revised, as new events unfold.
The aims of Restore are good, but glossing over how they intend to implement those aims with unchecked assumptions and poorly applied data isn’t good enough.
The first problem to sort out is the quality of our politicians and that can only come for an overhaul and reform of system of governance that would improve our democracy by giving 'people' more power. Our politicians should be our servants and not our masters.
If you aren't familiar with The Harrogate Agenda take a look!
I'm not sure about that. The quality of our politicians has been severely eroded by the intrusion of media and especially social media. Who wants their guts spilled for weeks on end in a red top because you once called someone 'golly'? I mean, it's just ridiculous.
Couldn’t disagree with you more. You don’t need a policy for everything in order to slash costs and improve customer experience. What you need instead is a clear philosophy of cost reduction. It’s not for politicians to take every decision on cost reduction as the public sector has many capable and very well paid managers whose job includes cost management. In Day1 of a Reform government they should be tasked with reducing their departmental costs by 10% and if they fail they should be replaced by someone who will.
Really good food for thought. We can all be sucked in by popularist sound bites, but what Pete writes causes me (at least) to pause and re-evaluate.
Me too 👍

Sorry, Pete, but please see the following:

Sounds like good advice to me.

If you are a real leader then media intrusion would not be a problem.

You need oversight to make sure that the 10% reduction is not made in the wrong places.
Of course, but do you think the minister responsible for transport oversees every road sign that is erected?
With respect, I am not clear what that has that got to do with what I wrote.
