I’m a bit late to the party but it looks like Allister Heath is not making any friends this week with his attack on Restore Britain. It’s a rare example of Heath being flat wrong. The issue at hand is whether Brits should meekly accept their demographic oblivion and become a minority in their own country.
Downes is an idiot. He wasn't ‘ambushed’. He just failed to make a coherent argument for disjointed and ill thought out policy. That's the thing with Restore Britain, a one paragraph policy doesn't fill out the details. Why? Because they haven't worked any out and rely on emotional impact. They are rank amateurs playing in the big boys’ pool and they’ve forgotten their water wings.
The issue isn't ‘demographic change’ as they all like to put it. Brits aren't being replaced, We're all still here. Our population is being added to exponentially by third world cultures. The arguments as to why are many, but the answe isn't to jump up and down shouting about ethnicity and how many parents, and where they were born makes you ‘ethnically British’. Not even the Messianic Rupert Lowe can do that overnight as he claims!
They do nothing that affects Reforms policy making, or pulling Reform to the right. Reform have to stay centre right to attract voters, that's where election victory comes from, not a handful of fat right wingers spouting ethno-nationalistic claptrap like Mr. Downes.
They are a ridiculous sham party designed to do one thing and one thing only, destroy Reform UKs chances of winning a general election. The only thing they can possibly achieve is more uniparty governance. If you want more Labour vote Restore.
They've had countless opportunities to correct their messaging to appeal to normies but are far too arrogant to do it. They aren't even offering up policy to stop ILR. The sad part is they are actively damaging the right now and turning people off voting for Reform, Restore, or voting at all. They were a toxic wrecking ball in Makerfield. They really are doing a lot of damage.
Britain as a whole simply isn't ready for the flavour of nationalism Downes et al espouse. That may come in the fullness of time. However, I for one am glad to see him hold his ground. Kowtowing to the Torygraph or dullards like Hartley-Brewer is no kind of solution to anything. I prefer to look to these 'stupid little boys' for their potential in 5 or 10 years time, than to the centre right establishment who merely perpetuate the failures and the elitism of the status quo.
It is true that all the 30 years from UKIP to Restore have largely been wasted in building a sound competent Right of Centre party due largely to leadership personalities over the hard grind of policy formation that would actually work.
Looks like we will have to wait a while longer for our saviour.

Yup. Fair play, you called this from the outset.
There is no potential pact when only one side lays down a set of unmeetable conditions and complains when the other side won’t play.

I think you have missed a couple of point(s).
The debate over migration has moved to the scale of remigration, not what MSM desire, whether it’s warranted at all.
Nigel said removing all illegal migrants was impossible, just 2 years ago. Restore is saying that is a betrayal.
MSM will attempt to pummel Restore whatever their policies.
the idea of Restore. By pushing for mass remigration it makes the media look irrelevant.
Mitigate the febrile rage of MSM and the attitude of people becomes stuff you (as happened in 2016).
A Reform supporter, who despises Lowe told me a Farage government would stop any Islamic takeover of the UK.
Which means Reform have to placate their voters or lose them to Restore.
Lowe know that the in the vast majority of cases, the ‘right’ back mass remigration.
It’s a vote winner.
What Lowe has to watch is MSM moving on to the effects of mass remigration on the economy.
His idea of a house building programme when large numbers of houses are vacated, makes no sense.
I think the economy and way of life of native Brits and assimilated migrants will vastly improve and that needs pushing.
Spot on Pete.
