Have a good one Pete. Good idea to stay off the doomscrolling I reckon.
You're probably a few years younger than me, but check out a tune called New Wave Of Acid Techno, a highlight from my brief and chaotic time partaking in the scene back in the day. Really showing my age now! 👌🏼💀
I think you’ll recall that I have no love of party politics. I’m not at all surprised at your disillusionment. It’s not like forming a football club, not at all. My personal prescription, assuming one isn’t suggesting mounting a violent mass movement, is to ridicule and chastise the fuckers from the sidelines and wait for the inevitable catastrophe. It’ll come, it always does, just not necessarily when you expect it. And in that moment, one hopes, someone will rise and shine unexpectedly. In the jaws of total defeat we will accept any message of hope/dictatorship and in the next incarnation we can hope to build anew. But it won’t come from any party pushing the same old, tired bullshit, it’ll come in the form of a quiet revolution. Democracy had its run, it’s failed miserably. Either we move to a genuine democracy with direct participation at every level or we revert to type and let a strong man get shit done. Until then, derision, opprobrium and ridicule works for me. Voting is a dirty business and I’m only starting to remove the taint it left me with after forty years of refusal.
BTW, like you, I can’t wait for January, as I do every year.
Pete, just want to condole that you are not alone. Personally resonate with most of your output, and share the frustration. Tried 'active engagement' for many years, but politics is a recipe for wasting time and depleting energy in debate with those who cannot tell a pearl from a truffle and care less, but enjoy the troughing, wallowing and rootling. The best the intelligent can do is monitor developments, suggest options and predict outcomes. Events will take their own course. The only consolation, if any, will be to say "I told you so"
A good time for a rest for all of us Pete. I shall be spending time with my wife, our sons, their wives and our grandchildren. Looking forward to not thinking about Sir Keir Starmer and his mission to destroy the country for a couple of weeks. Have a good holiday Pete and everyone and let’s hope for an end to the tyrant Starmer in 2026.
Pete , keep the faith , reading blogs like this remind me that I’m not alone and going insane , I totally get the ‘feeling it’s like groundhog day’ , which is ruined by Labour managing to screw up even more , just when one thought they couldn’t make it any worse .
I suppose we have to realise at some point that we will only get to ‘choose’ the best of the worst . Something I’ve thought about a bit is that it must take a few years to get the higherarchy and rules for a new party settled . The Tories ( when they were representative ) had evolved over many years before the power struggles and egos settled down . What I can’t get my head around is that we don’t have to wait .
Thanks for all your hard work Pete. I always appreciate your analyses. Reforms loss. Take a break, restore and renew. Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope those cops who arrested you, reflect on their actions, yet have a happy Christmas too.
If people are advocating a Democratic solution, to then never talk about Jewish money ( the ultimate example $200 million from Mirian Adelson to Trump ) damages their credibility.
Particular at a time when this topic is going mainstream and people are now "following the money".
Any movement has to be at the very least, transparent in never ever taking money from them.
It’s amazing that any British nationalist can look at the current state of the country and decide that the Jews are the problem.

Have a merry Christmas and a lighter hangover New Year Pete, you’re ok
Be well
Have a great Xmas Peter and a well deserved break from politics if it is at all possible to do so. Lol
KBO and Merry Christmas. What you write resonates with a lot of the politically homeless.
Agreed about Israel and the cul de sac of antisemitism.
The comment above about humour and ridicule matches the experience of the fall of the Soviet bloc. Dissident were heroic, but isolated.
Humour, ridicule and mass strolls tipped over the edge that failing system.
It did need outside help, and for now some of that exists in the form of President Trump,JDVance,Tulsi Gabbard and Marco Rubio.
It will be a slow grind and we will never reach Utopia, but we can still aim for it.
Merry Christmas.
