An interesting article, and a party I wasn't aware of. I'm checking out their website now, and it's remarkably free of red flags so far. My thanks to you for bringing them to our attention.
Thanks Pete for doing the ground work so we don't have to but I do wonder how all these 'new' parties can break through without a charismatic leader and the passing of a few years in the business as of course we need redemption as soon as possible!
As you know I don't rate Farage but he has always had the media star quality and while he is around Reform will get more publicity than the rest.
I'd make one point which is that I think it would be helpful if Pete (along with many other commentators) could clarify what exactly he means by "remigration".
I say this as some use it to mean (a) the deportation of illegals, others to mean (b) the deportation of legals, and others still to mean (c) the deportation of both.
With regard to (a) deportation of illegals, Nigel Farage - in his disastrous interview with Steve Eddington - said that he wants to "begin the process". But he went on to bleat that it was just too difficult to deport ALL illegals. (He was entirely unclear about what percentage of illegals he thought Reform might manage to deport: 3%, 23%, 43%, 63%?!)
Farage now appears to have been outflanked by Robert Jenrick who's said "we will deport those here illegally". (Though a sceptic might point out the absence of the word "all".) So both Reform and at least one Tory contender are talking about remigration in the sense of deporting illegals. (However, such remigration doesn't appear to be part of Homeland's policy agenda.)
With regard to (b) the deportation of legals, this requires first stripping legals i.e. UK citizens of their citizenship in order to be able to deport them. This was, in the old days, referred to as compulsory repatriation. AFAIK, no UK party has a policy of compulsory repatriation though the BNP has a policy of voluntary repatriation.
In some of Pete's posts, he's appeared (to me at least) to imply that he's in favour of some compulsory repatriation but (to me at least) has never fully clarified his thinking.
Steve Laws uses remigration to mean (c) the deportation of illegals and the compulsory repatriation of (around 12 million) legals. Thus, his views appear to be somewhat at odds with that of the party, Homeland, he's now joined!
Interesting that there were no women in attendance? Your account reads as if it was a gathering of articulate (young) men?
I wonder if Homeland actively rejects older patriots? There are quite a few of those (awful) Boomers like me, with active brain cells who take an interest in current affairs, politics, etc, who might be interested.
Do you think white-haired...(platinum blonde, in my case) crinklies are barred, in creating a new-look nationalist party? Bad for the image and representative of Reform?
Good to note however that the wife-beater-vest, coarse muscle men of the BNP aren't likely to get involved.
According to British media, unless we are Labour voters, we are all 'far right' now anyway...so pick your emerging right wing party.
I jest, but it would seem age, outlook, style of dress, hair colour and wrinkled, or wrinkle-free skin determines the group you join. Big Nige is obviously my man then. ;)
Is the Union Jack passé these days? Any at the Homeland event?
Pete old son - even a little bit of due diligence kind of indicates that, as you suspect Homeland Party really is but a vaneer with Kenny Smith & some of his cadre in the far right White supremecy camp.
& most of the current officers are ex Patriotic Alliance or ex BNP.
Seems you went down a storm at their boy's own conference - Any women in the audience.
You've convinced me with this report that either Labour or the Tories will remain the main parties of influence in the UK for quite some time. Quasi cranks like Homeland might have an ephemeral vaneer of appeal but it's hard to see even disillusioned Tory voters deserting in droves to even consider voting for White nationalism in the next 10-15 years.
"but they’re really just doctrinaire nationalists who have little time for the Spitfire nationalism of the Boomer generation"
Gawd Pete, unnecessary swipe at Boomers and the freedoms we have today.
I'm one, and given the subject matter - the concern regarding 'an alien invasion' - isnt recognising the sacrifices of those young men and women who gave their lives fighting for our freedoms in two world wars pertinent?
They fought to repel Hitler and the Nazis....
Most Boomers have had tough lives despite the inaccurate stereotype of their being privileged, so I resent the dismissive sneering.
If they are the last generation - with their 'Spitfire nationalism' - to revere those who fought for our freedoms decades ago, who saved us from hostile invasion, then heaven help us all in the future..
May our war memorials to their sacrifices stand for ever more.
I doubt they will in the current climate.
Okay, I digress, but Isn't that exactly why we are checking out new nationalist parties, and why we are cheered that right wing parties across the continent are gaining not just prominence but power?
Having had a gander at the Homeland website they are a group banging on about the rights of 'indigenous' people and 'jus sanguinis' What does engaging in 'community politics but not elections' really mean? The only pure thing on offer is poison. I applaud your engagement Pete, but other than that I suggest you wash your hands and feet and leave these racists well alone, you won't find any answers there.
I've been looking for a right wing party that does not hate Jews, I'll keep my eye's on these, I love my country but never been one for the Oh Tommy tommmy . Tommy tommy toommy tommy Robinson type of patriotism.
An interesting article, and a party I wasn't aware of. I'm checking out their website now, and it's remarkably free of red flags so far. My thanks to you for bringing them to our attention.
have a look at the principal officers of Homeland - easy to access - most appear to be either ex Patriotic Alliance or BNP.
It's a big no for me.
whoops Patriotic Alternative

Nobody is telling you that you have to do anything to stop the UK from going to the dogs. In fact, the left would welcome this!

Isn't it sad that 'we' need a charismatic leader to get media attention. Gone are the days when the best policies decided things.
Yes, Pete's analysis is most useful.
An interesting review.

Interesting....I'll watch them & see how things unfold, as I'm also becoming somewhat disillusioned with Reform's policies...or lack of them.
Thanks Pete 👍👏👏
The party of Carl Benjamin types then. That's no bad thing in my view.

Just have a look at these Wikipedia entries:

Thanks for highlighting this party Pete. I’ll certainly keep an eye out for them.
Very good article.
A clear, and informative report. Personal preferences declared, no stupid rhetoric. Watch and learn.
