Very occasionally I get enquiries from Sky News and other media organisations asking if I’ll go on the telly to say things. I’m still on their Rolodex from the Brexit years. I don’t represent any organisation or cause in particular, but I do fill air time for free and that’s good enough for the legacy media.
These days I tend not to bother. The only media organisation that ever gave me enough time to make it worthwhile was Russia Today, back when I was making the case for a softer Brexit. I generally won’t go out of my way just to record a sound bite.
That’s why I was delighted to be invited down to London by Lee Hall of British Thought Leaders for a long-form interview. I’d not heard of them but it looked like a very promising venture, and if I organised my day well enough, I’d have the chance to go for a walk around the RAF museum at Hendon. How could I refuse?
So to save me rambling on in written word today, there’s a whole hour of me talking to Lee Hall on the state of British politics. The title is slightly misleading in that we covered a whole range of subjects, and I’m sure we could’ve easily filled another hour. Very good interview, articulating what I and many others I know are thinking. Reassuring and depressing at the same time
Pete, may I congratulate you on your sterling performance in the BTL armchair....
