Restore Britain has published a new policy on policing. No doubt, nobody is interested in my opinion on it because I criticise everything Restore Britain does and I seldom, if ever, have anything good to say about what they do. While many suspect I have ulterior motives for that (I really don’t), it’s mainly because their work simply doesn’t live up to the standard I want to see. They have considerable resources, yet they continue to produce low effort garbage.
I'm sure this is a cracking piece of writing but the second I read the name 'Henry Bolton' I fell about laughing. He was in the SDP not long ago am I right? After getting booted out of UKIP - then trying to form a party of his own. Now he's in Restore.
Pretty sure he's 'suspect' on some level but that's a personal view and not fact. I do, however, now know that Restore are not to be taken seriously.
Contrary to what you think, I do want to hear what you have to say. I may not always like it, but I've learned it's foolish to dismiss it as you're probably one of the more astute commentators on Britain's grief than many, and you do direct our attention to where it matters.
The police are as corrupt and broken as the rest of the British Establishment so you can knock who you want but at least Restore are trying to keep the majority having a bit of hope because they know this place is bubbling more than it ever has and it won't take much more for the whole place to explode. I don't like your "If they had done a proper rape gang enquiry" that is scummy considering it was crowd funded and Rupert does have businesses and he's an MP too, he has done 1000 times more than the so called official one will do in 5 years or more it will take kicking the cans down the road and achieving nothing! It will probably end up like Burnham's Operation Hexagon and turn on the girls and whistleblowers again.
One fit agile well trained policeman is better than 10 unfit diversity driven unthinking zombies and then of course police leadership needs to strong and supportive who in themselves need to be backed up by strong focused politicians.
Until we get the basics right our forces for law and order are little more use than a cardboard cutout policeman on every street corner.
What galls the most is that it is well-known - to the point of being a trope - that a vanishingly small minority of people commit the vast preponderance of crimes. Isn't it about time the Police, Judiciary and Prison Service (yes, I mean the Home Office) recognised this in some practical way?
