On your minor point that <i>"Sunak. He gets his own special award as the most pointless prime minister of all time."</i>, I agree but only in part. We must not forget that £10billion a day Sunak has driven our debt over the totally unrepayable £3 trillion mark, as both Prime Minister and Chancellor. It is a stellar achievement and WILL almost destroy us. As such he might be called the most dangerous man in politics.

< “Meanwhile, the liberal order will be collapsing around him (Starmer). Odds favour a Trump victory and Europe is turning sharply to the right. The arch remainer wanting to bring Britain back into the fold will find there is no fold to speak of. Globalisation is dead, and neoliberalism is dying.” >

To my mind the process of Globalisation is too far entrenched to die. The aspirations of the Globalist Elites (GEs) will be checked by such as a Trump presidency and Europe “turning sharply to the right”.

And the GEs being checked is a good thing. As OGH writes : “The economy cannot withstand more Net Zero punishment.” They are attempting to do too much at once and too quickly in ways which include immoral and insane.

The process of Globalisation will continue albeit at a slower rate.

Meanwhile whoever is Prime Minister continues to be between a rock and a hard place in having to attempt to please both the electorate and the GEs.

What a job!
